Heavy Equipment Interagency Safety Training
These photos are of an annual training event conducted in various training areas of Camp Pendleton. Cal Fire from various units in southern California partake, Orange County Fire Authority, Orange County Public works, San Bernardino County Fire, Los Angeles City Fire, Sacramento Metro Fire, Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, and Contra Costa Fire. These agencies come to partake in this amazing training because they can actually put their skills to work and use the machines in a controlled environment. The base consists of approximately 164 miles of established Fire Breaks. These Fire breaks work in many ways to stop Fire from effecting the communities of De Luz and also to stop Fire from entering the base from De Luz. The Fire Breaks also give the Fire Fighters a place to bring Fire Engines and make a stand to stop the spread of fires.
